The long and winding road

It all began so long ago now, I was 13 and my father decided we should build an electric guitar together as a bonding experience, I readily agreed as my hero Brian May had built one with his Dad. What my Dad didn't tell me was there was to be no power tools used at all. Most instructive for us both and now some of my fondest memories.
So the project went on after school most days for almost two years until it was complete. Made from seasoned Jarrah collected by him a decade earlier…

I come from and Early Music background and a HG was always on the cards for me to make....BUT it was not until the CBN taught me a great lesson "No Rules" just have fun.
I never made one in the past because of "tradition" But now i have one.. soon to be two.
Be careful wanting one. Have a listen on U Tube before you enter the frustrating process of making a HG from scratch. I can put you on to some FREE plans but they are basically Traditional.

yeah i've tryd the drilling,filing etc technique to no avail.
i noticed in your photos you used a partagas habana box on one of your masterpieces.
how did it go in terms of sound?
the reason i ask is im using the same box as a ukelele for my next project.

Im probaly about half way throughfinishing it..
4 string tenor scale.

Sorry, have no camera, apart from my video camera, but it also is falling apart(can only record straight to disk)
I will, however, sort out a little vid as to the construcion an perform upon it for some sound samples (maybe good for the recording thread on the site).
