I am adding a piezo pickup from CB Gitty to a new build. I understand they can be hot sounding when not shielded, which brings me to my question. If I were to make my own disc-o-tone, are both sides…Continue

Belt Sander Thickness Sander????

Posted on July 1, 2015 at 11:25am 2 Comments

I thought I had seen photos on CBN in the last year of someone's awesome homemade setup that mounted a hand-held belt sander as a thickness sander. I cannot find anything in the search results. Any awesome inventors out there? I would love to try it without reinventing the wheel.... or thickness sander.

This is way too awesome to have been viewed so little, especially toward the end. Enjoy!

my piezo did the same thing , until i installed an onboard buffer circuit . i used a tillman . all the parts are available at radio shack . you can do a quick test to see if this will work for you , i think this should work but ... it may not until its installed inside , but ... try a guitar effects pedal that has a built in buffer . if that stops the hum , consider an onboard buffer or boost circuit . piezo is a lower output than a mag pu ... would it HURT ? the battery will last an awful long time , you COULD go with a rechargable , install a jack to recharge and an led meter as well , if you wanted to go all out . i added a headphone amp to mine . the battery lasts for years . google tillman http://tinyurl.com/nfrjlw3
