Anyone want to try a tri-can resonator?

Here are some photos of my first build. I am very happy with the results. Looks good and sounds good.

Couldn't find any cigar boxes readily here in Newcastle (Downunder!) so used a Jasart painters box.

Hi John,
As far as I know in pickups ,the more winds/stronger magnets you have, the fatter/louder the sound will be, so the bass pickups will probably work well. Bear in mind that electro-magnetic pickups respond mostly to the string movement, not the resonance of the actual guitar top so as long as your strings are steel you should be right.

Hi John. Mike Ptolomey here. Yeah I did'nt add sound holes as I read in the manual I have that some people think it does'nt make a difference (I thought it would) so as this is my first try, and holes are easier to cut than fill, I would have a go without them first. Sounds ok and I have fitted a piezo pick up too. This guitar I bought as a kit of raw materials so it had all the bits except for the stainless screws I used for the bridge and nut, oh and the ab shell (that came from the beach). I did do all the shaping on the neck as it was timber stock.
