Saw your post about wanting a uke built.I have a piece of western red cedar left over from this pair of ukes, it's not perfect (a couple of small resin voids and a slight discolouration towards one end) amazingly it is 8 7/8" wide and about 12" long before it starts to narrow.Let me know your thoughts about a spec.
bit dear at the moment mal what with christmas coming up and me in a drunken moment telling my eldest i will get him a new xbox this year for christmas
not to dear though i will message you after christmas
Hiya Mal, how's it going mate. Lovin the look of those strummers. We got to meet up sometime you'll have to let me have bash. No idea about the chords as you know I'm just a simple Ukulele geezer. cheers Sammy
thanks for the note mate. Not surprised with the challenges you have at the moment. Things will right themselves, you keep hanging in there and do your stuff. Re the Blues lessons from Uncle John, they are not so much blues lessons, but comments and tips he leaves....i.e he leaves the chords and lyrics to his songs which I love as it enables me to have a bash following along with my ukulele. In fact I did my own version of his 'railroad blues' and turned it into a tune of my life, I called it 'Born and Raised in a Coalmining Town', then blathered on about playing for Cas, then coming over to Hull etc. Its really basic but I like it as it's the first song I've written with a format. Not too difficult. I'll shoot it over for you to have a listen (and a giggle)...............you got a Concert, I'm tipping that's a Ukulele concert. If so, well done mate, join the ranks of Uke players. I keep promising I'll have a bash at 3 string but it may be too much for my brain to grasp (as all the chords are in different places ha) Might have a first stab at a strumstick (think you have one), anyway, take care mate. cheers Sammy
hi Mal, did you put up the pics of the twin rail pups with the 4 wires + braided shield? i got a couple the same did you have any joy with them? i'm after fitting a DPDT on/on/on switch...
Hi Mal, I put the video's up, they are a right laugh, my dogs keep getting in the way, but in a sad way, they improve the video's. Keep taking the tablets. cheers Sammy
Just seen them Mal, wow, they look really impressive. What level are you at with your playing? Is there any video evidence of you 'doing your thing'? cheers Sammy
This video is the unboxing and the demonstration of a beautiful, six stringer built by Louie Lamanna. Join Louie and I June 15 at the second annual Pittsburg...
