Here is another thought too. (Thanks, you got me thinking) Use standard strings Dgb and tune Cgc. Tune down the D to C and tune up the b to c. Now you are exactly like GDg. You mgiht need to experiment with string gauges to get the correct string tension. Key of C might be good for you too. Enjoy.

If you use standard guitar strings Dgb, you can use all the information on my new series of lessons because ADf# has the same 513 tonal relationship as Dgb. Of course the chord names will change, but you can figure that out. Key problem solved. Enjoy.

Thank you Uncle John for your comment.
My CBG uses standard guitar strings ADg tuned down ADf#
Bill's CBG uses standard guitar strings gbe ( the high strings) tuned down f#ad
Enjoy.

Thanks Uncle John :-) For the little guitars like diddleybows or 2 strings I use a traditional way to build the neck, with reversed tuners, so it is easier to get a good tension on the string. But I also like a lot the building like yours and my 3 strings have this style too. Some 4 strings are coming for Christmas :D I'm trying to sell on eBay some guitars but I'm afraid this is really slow and I have much more guitars on store than what is displayed on eBay :D That would be great to send them to kids or school in some poor country maybe

Ya, you got to watch that AM drinking! When I was in the USAF, I would drink coffee and whiskey on Sunday morning with my roomate, Bubba. I guess a little "hair of the dog" to recover from a rough Saturday night. I discovered it would all go straight down hill, and find myself back in bed sleeping soon after. LOL Actually, I am a light weight drinker these days. Only a couple of beers on the weekend. Those belgium beers pack just the right punch! Enjoy.

Hey Uncle John! Thanks for your kind words on my Stumpf fiddle video. It's hard not to smile when somebody fires one of these things up. I have been thinking about doing a picture of Charlie Brown on my old bald gourd. 'course your Halloween idea sounds tempting. See Ya!

Thank you Uncle John for your response. The amp even has a belt / strap clip if you want to go mobile and purchasing the electric adapter saves on the cost of batteries too. Enjoy.

Thank you Uncle John for your comment. I like spreading that old myth. It is especially appropriate during the Season of the Witch. Tune that F# down a half step and you are in open D minor tuning (ADF). Enjoy.

Thanks for recognizing that I was simply posing a question and meant no harm/offense to anyone. I am new to this site, haven't viewed all the videos, but when I ran across this one it confused me! Again, no harm intended. BTW, for the record, my 6-string banjo is a build from scavenged parts from a 1920s Bruno tenor banjo and a junked GoldTone neck; had to make my own bridge...nothing but the strings and tailpiecewas "store-bought". I like the gear yer turning out too!

Ya, that is some mighty tasty stuff. A while back a friend gave me a bottle of Belgium ale and said you got to try this! Ever since, I've been hooked. Duvel, Chimay, Delirium Nocturnum, Three Philosophers...The higher alcohol content is nice too. I am a light weight drinker. Usually only one or two, so this packs more punch without filling you up. Great with Pizza! Enjoy.
