Just spotted your H44. I managed to bag a mint reissue on Ebay. It's a beautiful little guitar - sustains for a week. You're gonna enjoy that little beauty when you've rebuilt it.
Thankyou kindly Richard!....:-)such kind words...it made me laugh to read that cause i was sitting here lamenting my blog, 2 posts in two years,,HA.....I've no time for the network factor,....all i can do to keep up with youtube, and this site, that's it!;-) AND make music in between....most days find me almost too busy to do that, but I manage to play a little, everyday, even if only a strum or two....it is my "even keel"..had a run in with a rattler and there is a song in that as well as all the campaign ballyhoo.......hehehe,
..I work with a friend in France we bake up songs that can be heard at channel user Francifornia at YT as well, if you have time to check that, a diff sound....I act as lyricist and singer, not player..which is fun. my puter bit the dust Saturday, I'm hoping I did not lose lyrics, my bro is trying to pump life back into it, and thereby rescue it a bit...are you in the high desert in WA? loved seeing the rolling brown hills as a kid.. lived in Salem Or for awhile, on my G'folks cherry farm..Bliss for a kid...!!.again--many thanks--kind words come along like yours and i remember my ditties bring a smile not just to me, and THAT is what I set out to do when I share em, more often than not..
Laurie;-)
thankyou Richard for your friend vite! did not realize you are up the coast......!:-) Great looking work you do...beautiful neck and fret work! the cohiba boxes are so pretty!!!Thanks for the F'vite!Have a great Monday!

Thanks for the tip on the volume pedal for the lap steel. I added a pot that rolls one of the pickup's coils to ground - kinda like a variable coil cut. I definitely want to get a volume pedal. By the way - do you mind if I use your domino bridge idea on some of my builds? Those things are sharp as a tack!!! See Ya 'round
Thanks for the kind words, Richard. These are the coolest comments I've ever had. I've always been a fan of the Chet Atkins, Doc Watson, Merle Travis sound and have been working on applying it to a three-string CBG. Your feedback has done got me fired up and motivated - thanks back at you! Stay in touch.
Ya, today with ebay, it is possible like never before to see so many vintage instruments for sale. I definitely have a romance going on with vintage guitars. It is very empowering to be able to play the exact instrument that was available to the original Blues masters of the 1920 /30s. Thank you for your friendship. Enjoy.
Thanks for sharing Richard. Sounds like you found some great finds. One of my guitar teachers played Charango. Interesting instrument. I often see the Peruvian music groups playing them down on the subway platforms. Enjoy.
I just kind of threw that tune together...never been much of a song writer. I'm going back to do some fine tuning on it and I'll repost. Change some fx, levels, arrangements, etc. I really like that tune of yours...very original. And that last build is awesome. Take care!

Seriously! No freakin' way! I thought I was the only one around these parts. From the look of your pictures, I could learn a lot from you. We should get together. I'd love to see some of your work in person.
Thanks Richard, Was hoping there would be some members in state. Easier for me to pick their brains. I am new to all this so spending some time reading the forums stuff, looking at pics and videos. Trying to learn enough to actually start building one.
Your stuff looks reaaly nice ! Ben doing it long or just gifted ?
In this video I compare the three different wooden slides made by David Bell and Phil Young up against my Dunlop glass slide! I gotta say these wooden slides...
