Hi. I have a friend in the USA who has the same unusual surname as you. He wondered if you had done any family history research on the name Flatt and if your ancestors came from Norfolk like his. Cheers, smojo.

Hello my dear!
Wow it sounds like you are as busy as me! Lol
Thanks for the comments on my mandolin, I am very proud of it.
My next task is to finish Gerry's bouzouki and that should be completed in a month. Then my next project is an electric tenor guitar! Phew!
It is the start of the festival season and I am hoping that Gerry's band will be using 3 Ani McNeice instruments on stage! Fingers crossed!
Happy gigging
speak soon
Ani xx

Actually the guitar conversion HG sound like it should do but I have to learn how to reduce the volume of the drones. To do this I have to construct a device for gradually lessening the pressure of the drone strings on to the wheel. I have not bothered to do this as I have a Cigar Box HG under construction where (I hope) I have put into place all that I have learned from the Guitar version. I am trying to make this a little more of a quality instrument and am construction separate finger pas for the keys and things like that. I am also using ebony for the keys. It is one of those projects that i have on the bench and work on it from time to time.

I have just made myself a 5.2 meter kayak which is an abiding exercise hobby of mine. I made it from ply and epoxy/fiber glass covering. This has taken all my hobby time for a while.

I am 98 % decided to follow your ideas for the Uke bass. Thanks

Yes, I am selling my wife... any offers?!!!!

No, it was a sun spot that was invasive (Basal cell carcinoma) They took an 18mm circle around it from the end of my nose, then instead of creating a graft they did some fancy cutting to free up the skin so that they could cover the circle of excision. Pretty clever stuff. I feel as if i have been in a rugby match but very little pain as such.

Is it a through neck? or do you have another approach to keeping the neck straight?
