Hello Mr. Drumm thank you for taking the time to comment on my last build... I have built with that box before and I had a customer that wanted me to build one for him. This one has a truss rod and very low action. I hope that he likes it. That looks like a great deck to have a cold one and play some blues on.... Take care. Jim

PASSAGE.mp3...Here is a new song recorded using the Lyra Mbira. It's called "Passage"...music for modern griots? I'll leave that for you to decide...LOL!

Check out my latest build, the Lyra Mbira (pronounced Leera Em-beera) on the Kalimba site and my photos page. An instrument designed for modern griots...

Thanks for your comments William. I do not like taking pics indoors if I can help it, since outdoor light is much easier to work with. Unfortunately, lately I've had to wait a couple days for the sun to come out... :-) but I had a little window today. Thanks for checkin' 'em out!

Thank you SO much for your kind comment on my video! I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I finally put together an idea I had been pondering over for some time. It's nice when all of the parts fit together successfully.

you are welcome sir,i hit this thing running and it hit back, now i,m caught up in it. i have never found anything that has captivated my attention so strongly as cigar box guitars.i am the youngest of 9 children and i am the seventh son of a seventh son.my father was a jack of all trades and he mastered every one he set his mind to. i grew up as a kid with 30 or 40 old cars in my back yard and 40 or 50 old television sets and old radios up in our attic. i always had stuff to get into when my papa would let me. that is why i make things like these cause they challenge my level of thinking.i have been practicing fer about 7 or 8 months now and i think i have learned a few things. thanks fer the nice comment.

Thank you for your reply. I have contacted 34 pages of members and I have about 16 more to go. LOL It seems from the replies, we have a lot more builders here than players and instructors. It is my hope that this group helps to solve this problem. Enjoy.

Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee
