Hey Shawn ! I didn't forget about ya' buddy just been busy with...and ...
I'd like to have you over some time after the holidays or whenever..., so's you can check out potential parts for steam-punk CBG's. I've been a junkaholic my whole life which means there's gobs of unique difficult to find crap in my drawers. Oh man, that didn't sound good. Uhm, let's just say I've got a LOT of stuff. Maybe we could work out a barter or somethin'...?
Have a Great Christmas my friend, take care. - wally
I'LL KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE NEW BUILD. AND I USUALLY USE REGULAR STEEL, CHROMOLY IS SALTY, STAINLESS IS SALTY ENOUGH AS IT IS, HAHA. AND I TOTALLY AGREE, HATE THE TRAFFIC WITH A PASSION.!
Hey Shawn, It was real nice to meet you in person also. Nice of you to haul all of those cool guitars to show us. That's some mighty substantial bracin' on that body, I'll be interested to see how you attach the neck. I'll have to look thru my parts bins, maybe I'll take some photos and send 'em to ya'. Then it's only a matter of trying to convince this junk-a-holic to part with some. ha-ha-ha. Ya' know, I thought I was going to have to move a year ago so I sold most of my stationary wood n' metal working machinery,(which I'm now replacing) at the same time I scrapped that's right, I said scrapped, about 300lbs. of copper n' brass stuff. I kept the gears tho', I just gave away a bunch of gears to my nephew who's makin' robots out of them...dang-it. Okay, I'm outa' here, I'll get back with ya' on this subject. Take care man.
howdy shawn, just stopped by to tell you that the center piece on the zino tri-can resonator is from scotland,a friend there mailed a few cbg related items to me and this was in the package,if i were to guess i would say that it must have been on an old clock face.it is the right size and shape to ornament a vintage clock with.take care shawn, nice work with the steampunk builds man.
right on .. I wanted to buy it but the guy don't ship to Canada .. I do have a red one .. and I will be looking for a black one ..in the future.. have a great nite !
Thanks for the compliments. The brass reso I used is a potpourri box I picked up at a thrift shop for 50 cents. It is about 3" round and about the same deep.
Hey Shawn. The skull graphic is a page cut out of a cigar magazine, same w/ headstock. The sound ports worked out well as the guy I built this for will play it mostly amped/loud. So it kept graphics intact , minimized feedback, and lets the fairly small box sound good to the player at least when unplugged. Built for a guy named Shawn by the way!
