Let me noodle some ideas around and I'll get back to you. In the meantime, Diane (Chicago) builds some pretty neat stuff and she is promoting get-togethers there from time to time, if that may work. As far as sharing thoughts about striping, I will be pleased to give you some ideas and pointers. The Tiki thing sounds fun. Been slinging paint for more than fifty years, so perhaps I can help in some way. I noticed you asked a question some time ago about 4-strings. I recommend 5-4-3-2 (A,D,g,b) for four-string gits, tuned DGbd.

At 11:53am on September 2, 2010, bairfoot cajun said…: for some reason on a 4 string guitar i use the middle 4 strings and throw the other2 across the fence in the back yard,just kidding the wound E and the unwound E both are useful for 2 different 1 string d-bows or 1 single 2 string d-bow. you got some nice work that is very distinguished in style. as for as a resonator build goes--i say try one out and you will thoroughly enjoy the tone it produces. if you have any questions i can help with on the resonator build i would be glad to help if i can.
