This Blog Post is intended to catch up on the events in my life over the last few years (I see that 2017 was my last Blog). There has been a lot of changes.
1) Contrary to Rumor, I'm still building Cigar Box Guitars. After all the 3 string is my "first Love" in the stringed instrument world.
2) My Business has grown International, with sales in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Ukraine, Sweden, Norway, Australia, and yes, even Hong Kong. I credit this success to the diverse Instrument types that I have expanded into. I now have a much broader market.
3) Recently, I have officially backed away from Social Media. It has become far too much of a distraction. I have deleted my Facebook account totally. I will instead be focusing on my Craft and Education. There are two types of people in this World. Creators and Destroyers. I'm tired of trying to get the Destroyers to be more Creative. Lesson Learned. I'm living in my own World now. (Theme Song: Fool on the Hill).
4) I'm looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.
Well, enough for now.

thats great to hear!...you are one step ahead of the pack
I made a vector graphic file for my K40 CO2 Laser. I'm cutting them out of 5mm thick soundboard scraps.
Wow. Nice sound hole cover.
It took a bit of reflection for me as well. But in the end I've always been a "Creative Anachronist" in using new ways to achieve vintage results.
I hope to see the laser engraver thing. I see some beautiful work in the photo section today, Thursday, that I think was done by laser. I kind of have mixed thoughts on the use of it. It looks fantastic, but is not as 'real and honest' as hand done work... But I am an old fart and new ideas take me a while to come around to.
I'm still playing my 2016 GS Monroe 4-string in concert. God I love that thing. Recently, I added a LACE pickup to it after the internal piezo got wonky from too much band van torture.

One of the topics I'm considering doing a Forum on is practical Laser Engravers.
It's a growing technology that is getting inexpensive enough for the hobbyist to have one. I just upgraded to a K40 Laser which is capable of cutting everything from head stock inlays and sound hole rosettes to custom spindles for those who wish to wind their own pickups.
Part of the Forum if folks are interested will be the sharing Vector Graphic files to help you get started.
Good to see you here, GS. I have long admired your craftsmanship. You are an authentic luthier. Nice pic here on the blog too.
Sounds like you maybe had trouble on facebook or elsewhere. That seems to happen. CBN has shrunken to a pretty small but nice pond. Old timers tend to show back up and it is good to see them. I resisted on FB, but have been on it a lot the last 2 years. It's nice there to interact with folks who I would not see on CBN. I will be careful and cross my fingers.
Meanwhile, I will watch what you are creating.
