Strait Headstock versus Angled Headstock

I have been building these fun little stringbuddies for a fjew years now Here at BCB.
But for the first time i had to docter one of my favorit players, cose the Top string tended to run off while in high gear playing, becouse of the strait head i came up whit solution no 1 in the picture on the left. in the middel one ,the headstock is angled so the string problem was whit the tuning of the strings while the pressure on the tuners got to high so i plased a pin for tension release guidens. And the therd(3) is my favorite the slotted headstock gives me the most smooth playing and durable use of my crafted instrument, what is your exspirience consurning the Headstock Toppic?

Here is one of my other slotted heads on a can git fast cheap sturdy and standardiced because of the ready set tree (3) way tuners fro a standard acoustic headstock and becouse you only use one for a tree string you get two for the price of one !!

Thanks Donkey For the kind reply I have tryed that on a strait head aswell

it gives the same look & sturdy ness but the sting angle on the nut is better ,in my case the glue on was for more meat so to say for the tuners to screw down on the wood .

I do scarf joints on all of mine. I did a cutout on the headstock of one git that turned out great.

I have done scarf and straight away but I prefer the simplicity and less work of the straight away, the scarf is nice not needing any string retainer, but I do not mind the string retainer.

Hi Andries, I have built all 3 types. The scarf joints came out nice but were too much work with my limited tools and glueing was a challenge. The slotted worked great on ukes I made. I think I like the flat for simplicity, but I use a rivet, screw, or rod type part for the string tree, or one of those cheap stamped trees.
