Started building my first CBG

Basically using the tutorial found here to build my first CBG. So far so good. Have made a few mistakes but nothing that can't be fixed. Did ruin one box by not double checking my measurements. Forgot to make fret markers and cut a nut slot before adding a sealer. Guess will add all that, sand her up some and add another coat of sealer. Overall though I am pretty happy with how it's coming along.

  • She's a doll. The guitar looks like a dandy too.
  • Well, got the first build done. Even with a few flaws it came out great. Only bummer part of it is one of the tuner heads has some play in in and it creates a buzz when playing. If I touch the tuner head it quits so I put a piece of tape on it till I can pick up a new tuner. I made this one a 3 string. Have to say I like playing 3 string better than 4 string. Here is the youngest daughter trying it out!

  • Thanks all, it is really fun. I imagine if I had the proper tools it would be a lot easier. I have a hand saw, file and drill, that's about it. Guess that's all you really need though. I have about every automotive tool known to man but no wood working tools.
  •  There are no mistakes. There are only new droplets added to the pool of knowledge. ;)

    Lookin' good.
