Hi all,
This is my first blog (ever) and 3rd CBG type build, so I thought I would share the ride with those who might be interested.
Technically it is a 3 string hollow body guitar as no cigar box's will be harmed during the build.
Scale will be a fretted 24.75"
neck will have a truss rod adjustable at the heal end
Body and neck stock is Victorian mountain ash and spotted gum
and is based on a design I saw on the web
I'm lucky because I have 3d cad skills and a small cnc router to help make components
and unlucky because I cant play guitar for S#?t, but I like to build stringed instruments so what are you going to do?
A couple of pics of the design elements
I am fairly progressed with the build, body and neck are cut
will post more pics in the coming days to bring the build up to date

Looking good nice to see another Aussie builder Cobba .
had a chance to do a bit more today
test fitted the neck to the body (nice and snug) and finished off the base painting
now its all ready for final sanding and clear coat
all going well, clear coats on the week end

Thanks for the kind words
Only painting the back and sides
The top is just having the US 61 signage misted on as to tie it together with the body shape
there will be plenty of wood showing through
On hold at the moment as I'm waiting on a few parts to arrive

Are you really going to paint that body??? the wood looks superb and I`m guessing it would look really cool just polished up.
Body has basic base paint on now still need to add the signage to the front
back and sides has a distressed crackle finish
Not sure why the posts are not in sequence,
any advice accepted
G
Thanks for the kind comments
A few more pics and that brings the neck up to date
This is the wavy grain texture you get with spotted gum
Thanks for dropping by
