This one was a pain in my backside - seemed like something went wrong almost every step, compounded by my trying a bunch of new things on it.
I was prepared for the final result to be terrible, but it came out great - sounds lovely (has kind of a dulcimer-like sound) and is super comfy in the hand.

Its always great when a troublesome build comes out so nice------looks real good! I think the slots look good, all the same and do just what they are supposed to. Art
Correct - I don't have nut-slot files so I use my triangle file to cut the slots, so it's a "V" shape. I also curve them back up towards the pegs so the strings don't have a hard bend over the nut, but a slightly gentler curve.
I've thought about picking up a set of those faux-nut-slot-files (I think they're actually gas jet cleaners) but am on the fence about it. The current system works, but it's not the most lovely...
Lonman , I thought the same thing , till upon closer inspection , they are " V notched", so it just looks (is) wider at the top , but tight at the contact point.
wow, thats a looker. Outside of the large nut slots, it looks great. Are the nut slots really that big or is it a mirage and did it effect the sound?
That's an impressive looking build . good stuff.
