NEW BOOK!
Fox Chapel Publishing has just released An Obsession With Cigar Box Guitars: 120 Hand Built Examples by David Sutton. (Click the title to go to the Amazon page. They have copies for as low as $10.) I am featured prominantly in this 160 page, full color book along with a bunch of guitars I have built or that are in my collection at the Speal's Tavern Cigar Box Guitar Museum. Wow! I feel like a rock star. Thank you, David!!!

NEW SNAKE OIL BAND VIDEO!!
After months of preperation and one massive concert at the PA Cigar Box Guitar Festival, I am finally able to debut the Official Promo Video of Shane Speal's Snake Oil Jug Band. Please check it out and be sure to share it on Facebook and other social network sites. We will be using this "trailer" to get the band booked at bigger venues, festivals and performing arts centers. Spread the word.

NEW CIGAR BOX GUITARS IN THE STORE!!!
I've added another twelve guitars to www.cigarboxguitar.com, my online store. New models include short-scale 4-string cigar box guitars (sounds chime-y and beautiful). Oh, the prices on the 2-string "Confessional" guitars have been reduced to just $95.

SHANE SOLO - Mudhook Brewing and the Racehorse Tavern
After bringing the boogie with the Snake Oil Band all summer, it's a great change to get back into some deep and primal solo shows. Concerts this week include:

a special beer-and-cigar event at Mudhook Brewing this Wednesday from 6-8pm. Mudhook is located at Central Market House in downtown York PA. (Mudhook official site)
I return to the almighty Racehorse Tavern this Saturday at 9:30pm just in time for owner, Jimsie's birthday. There's nothing like a Shane show at the 'Horse. It gets loud, crazy and Mardi Gras beads will fly. The Racehorse is located 1/2 a mile behind the Morningstar Marketplace in Thomasville, PA. (Racehorse official site)
And don't forget about my weekly open mic at the First Capital Dispensing Co. in downtown York every Wednesday starting at 9:30pm. Yes, I jam with anyone who asks. Come on out.

Other news...
Check out the new Crow video, "LoveSong". He performs The Cure's classic on a Shane Speal cigar box guitar. BTW, Crow is the dude who covered my song "Slow Motion" so awesomely that I had to re-record it for my album, 12 Stones.

I'm working on a new batch of free "How to Play Cigar Box Guitar Lessons" for Youtube. There will be some 4-string slide lessons, including some Seasick Steve secrets.

I'm sure there's 17 other things I've missed, but I'll just have to save them for next week's email.

Oily not sure shipping a git to {Saudi Arabia} would be cheap nore do i think id get it back lol . hope i do run into you at a fest or something .

Just because they are on the radio does not mean a damn thing . The fact that we build them , fight them untill we beat them into submission , and dont spend $500 bucks to do it and if someone wants o build their own we show them for free, makes us more of rock stars than they ever will be . I would rather hang a git signed by everyone on the nation on my wall than one signed by E.V.H .
