Shane Speal's Snake Oil Band

Love for our crazed fans, upcoming shows + the newest cigar box guitars for this week!

They Wouldn't Let Us Leave!
(The world of rabid Snake Oil fans)

Snake Oil fan, Kurt B. snapped this photo Tuesday night as Shane Speal's Snake Oil Band performed our first show at Tellus360 in Lancaster PA.  Ronn Benway had just fired off our toilet paper gun at the crowd for the fourth time and turned a few people into The Mummy.

If I remember right, the promoter booked us to do a 2 hour show...but that just wasn't gonna happen with this crowd.  We performed 3 hours of straight music with out a set list for them... and then they wouldn't let us leave the stage!  Sure, we've had crowds demand encores before, but these guys were rabid.  They wanted more.

For the first time in Snake Oil Band history, we performed almost four hours.  No set list.  No plan.  Just the constant interaction of band and crowd.

You guys are the most amazing fans I've ever seen and I just wanted to say THANK YOU!  Many of you have asked how you can help spread the news of our shows and other projects.  Here's two ways:

  1. Visit the new STREET TEAM page on our website.  We've uploaded PDF posters for our concerts.  If we're coming to your town, download a flyer, print out a few copies and post them around town.  We currently have posters for our shows next week in Frederick MD and Camp Hill/Harrisburg PA.
  2. Join the SNAKE OIL FANS page on Facebook.  Unlike other Facebook pages, this one allows you to interact with us, post your photos and get updates before anyone else.  I'm on there daily and love hearing from you guys.

We've got three concerts coming up next week plus many more in the next two months.  We're still looking for more venues in the PA/NY/NJ/DE/MD states.  Bring us to your town!  If you scroll to the bottom of this email, I've posted our concert schedule.

Thanks for keeping us on stage.  This is a dream come true...

Stay primal.

Electric cigar box guitar loaded with a fat & creamy P90 pickup.

I introduced "The Speal" electric cigar box guitar two weeks ago and immediately sold out.  This new version has a few improvements such as a dark oak fretboard with brass fret markers, brass corners and a gorgeous Arturo Fuente Box.

Click the pic to see the demo video I just filmed.  I'm not sure why, but this new version has a really "Chicago smooth" tone to it...very uptown slide guitar sounds.  I'm in love with it.
