Planning my next cbg project any cool design ideas out there, do springs make a difference inside the box, art work, embellishments etc etc. Cheers and keep chugging.
Hi and welcome Phillip, If you cant find inspiration in the photo video section of this site I 'd suggest googling Cigar Box Guitar Images.
Springs? I do not know as I have not tried them myself. Some say that springs on the tremolo bridge of a Strat add something to the sound, and they are very short and tight. But then lots of different people claim to hear lots of different things that others cant.
To have any effect I would think that the springs would have to be excited into motion by soundwaves within the box, So maybe they would have to be "tuned" to work sympathetically, somewhat like the fine strings on a Indian Citar. Just thinking out loud.

Do a web search on Ed Stilley. There is some info here in the nation also. I think. Couldn't find much just now

Thanks for the link Dennis, that is a priceless sound and I love the guitar construction idea. Cheers Phil
