Building the Newgrange CBG

This is a commission instrument for John Campbell.  It's name is Newgrange, inspired by the prehistoric monument in County Meath, Ireland.

Here's a pic of the progress so far - a Las Cabrillas box, and some maple

I decided to put a strip of rosewood between the maple ears on the neck. I glued it to the ears first.

Then glued the ears to the neck

I cut the neck hole in the box and made a fingerboard. I'm trying to get the fingerboard color close to the sides of the box.
