Did it!

Just finished experimental CBG. Material used for the box: 12 mm plywood.

Two Pick-ups:

- Inductive - Self Made

- Piezo - BelCat kit - IRIS 1 with Pre-Amp. It was available and I utilised it.

Each sound channel has separate output socket.

During experimenting I used also a sheet of metal for enhancing resonance, but nothing happened, on top - guitar became heavy. So I refused to install this element.…

I am glad I found this group.  Hoping to find a lot of information on building my own cbg.  I am easing into it as I just made a canjo that I am  calling my pinto beanjo from a pinto bean can.  It’s a one string canjo.  I have gotten 3 cigar boxes and intend to make an electric 3 string cbg.  I understand ther aren’t any rules in making a cbg but I want to understand the parameters I need to stay in.  

Box trim being glued and headstock cut. Needs tyding up tomorrow when the last two sides of the box trim will be glued. Bought a draw saw off amazon to do the headstock cutting and was suspicious as I couldn't see a country of origin. Turned out to be Chinese crap and was blunt before I finished cutting it out. I'm thinking of using a router for the next two.…

Lesson 1: Not all cigar boxes are the same size. Bought this one on e bay without checking. Timber from local merchant and all parts purchased from a UK supplier. Total cost about 60 quid. I'm hoping a couple of pizzos will produce some sound 20231221_130207.jpg…

  I am a collector of Christmas Music and Albums; I have all the Cigar Box Christmas Albums From 2009-2022 except for 2020.

I hope someone will be able to provide me with an answer as I have asked here before and never received one response or answer.

1) Was there a 2020 Christmas Album and if so how can I obtain it.

2) Will There be a 2023 Christmas Album as I see nothing on this sight to indicate so, that would be a shame as it's a Christmas…

Building my first cbg, but I can’t get the d-string in tune. I am using a 22 fret board (from Amazon) and de distance from the nut to the bridge is 628 mm. Who has a possible solution….
