Very cool that you are going to try out my plans in BUST Magazine. Yes, i did use a longer scale. It would be somewhere between a concert and tenor. What i do is i cut the neck so that it is aesthetically pleasing in proportion to the box without measuring the exact scale length. Only later do i figure out what the length is and where the frets should go. Hey, Good luck. I'd love to see it when you are finished. : )
