They are still playable but they are harder to play as the string are getting farther from the neck.For their necks I used either red oak or white maple. 1 5/8 inches (width) X 3/4 inches (thick). Love to round necks, carve headstocks and stain wood. I especially like 3 strings Cigar Box Guitars and have a taste for collector/special edition boxes.
