Looking for Acoustic Sound

A couple of months ago I started a journey to find a simple instrument to play to accompany the campfire band that plays at my Civil War reenacting group. I love creating something unique with my own hands. I played brass instruments way back in high school and wanted to find something relatively simple to learn and came across the diddley bows. I built two then graduated to a three string.
