Reg Seward replied to Ramson's discussion Intonation problem in the group Building a Cigar Box Guitar 101
"Mmm, nice build..... However, without hearing it in a 'live' situation, it is difficult to see what the problem could be. May I suggest acquiring longer screws for the bridge, maybe just for the thinnest string at least, then see what…"

Reg Seward replied to Ramson's discussion Intonation problem in the group Building a Cigar Box Guitar 101
"I found a similar thing myself, I now tend to make bridges that can be adjusted back and forth, even on three string things. Weirdly, another manifestation I was not expecting is, after fitting whatever strings, like my normal guitars, I let them…"

Reg Seward replied to Michael shrader's discussion Bonehead rookie mistake in the group Building a Cigar Box Guitar 101
"I recently completed a round tin three string thing. The neck was a slotted 'Spanish' type headstock. I filled in the slots with some Poplar. I then sanded it down and glued some wood veneer over the messy looking slab on both sides (first…"

Reg Seward replied to micky rooney's discussion Best Amp in the group The Brits are coming
"Well I tried and purchased a little Pignose amp some years back, it has a certain 'distortion' sound to it when its cranked up a tad. It certainly can fill a pub bar with noise anyway. It has the capacity to just use batteries, although…"

"Hi guys,  I sit here tonight (U.K.), a round tin CBG behind me that the lacquer is not drying on the neck quickly because of the cold weather. I sprayed it outside and bought in indoors, but...... I cannot go in the workshop until the weather…"

Reg Seward replied to Peter Hendley's discussion Advice on learning to play 6 stringed lap in the group Lap Steel World
"Hi Peter,   I have been playing guitars for years, but arthritis has messed up my digits quite substantially. Therefore, I have gone down the road of learning slide stuff. I built a 6 string lap steel (pictures on here somewhere) and began the…"

Reg Seward commented on smojo's group The Brits are coming
"Hi Dani/Grey Bear, My latest project, which has unseated all my other planned projects for a bit is made up of the remnants from this little weapon. A fairly non-descript 'Spanish' thing, I had sort of tuned it and played a few chords a…"

"I tend to use a small Pignose myself. It seems to thrive with the right amount of distortion to make any CBG sound excellent..... lord knows what size it is wattage wise...!!!!"

I have played drums, percussion, guitars for years in various bands, but always felt a tad disjointed playing named brand stuff. I am a practical guy with time on my hands, and a penchant for wood.....
