Glued on fretboard question

I’m planning on making my first glue on fretboard. My question is on how to add the nut. One video I saw showed the builder notching the fretboard then using a bolt set in the notch. I’m using the…Continue

"Rule of thumb is the distance from the nut to 12th fret is the same as 12th fret to where the string touches the bridge - i.e the 12th fret is always 1/2 the scale length (give or take a touch for intonation), It looks like if you wind your 3 bridge…"

Obvious overlooked error. Do I rebuild this neck?

Hi everyone.Just finished my first electric. Sat down to play a bit and realized I had somehow made the neck short. I’ve only got 15 complete frets! I can’t believe I did that. It plays really well too. I’m thinking I might just live with it or I might rebuild the neck. Thoughts? Anyone else missed something so obvious?Feeling dumb.Hope everyone is well.MikeSee More

Snake oil pick up install question

GuysI’m building my first electric and installing a snake oil pickup. I’m not sure how it mounts in the box. It appears that it attaches to the pickup ring with two adjustable screws. Is that correct? Also, how do I determine the minimum amount of neck to notch for clearance? Thanks! You guys have helped me immensely as I learn this craft!See More

MS CBG No. 1. First build.

Well after talking about it for a year, I finally jumped in and completed my first build based on Shane Speal’s Poor Man’s Guitar instructions. Made a few mistakes but I guess they give it character. I’m surprised at how loud and good it sounds! Build 2 in planning!
