BTW: In my lessons, I encourage students to dig in and experiment with the material. Trying to figure out and tab a song in a video is a very good learning experience. There really is no substitute for this type of study. Enjoy.

Thank you Michael for your purchase. Yes, CDs 1 - 3 present a complete course for understanding Open D and G Tuning. Then by extension, CD 4 and 5 (available soon) cover 3 and 4 string CBGs in Open G. Regardless of the number of strings, if you understand the relationship between strings in open tuning, you can play many instruments. For example, standard Bluegrass Banjo tuning is open G (gDgbd), many middle eastern instruments can be easily open tuned, and uke, mandolin, tenor guitar too. Enjoy.

What CD did you order? CD 4 is specifically for 3 string CBG tuned GDG. CD 1 also contains 3 string CBG lessons, but the tuning is DAD. Different strings, but the fingering is exactly the same. It just sounds a different key. Thank you for your purchase. Enjoy.

hey , have you tried a different guitar on your amp ?

i had the same problem , it was not my amps (i made 2) it was a low output from the piezo .

i built a preamp from radio shack parts (cost maybe 6 bucks) , mounted that into the cbg with a 9volt and it sounds fantastic . the preamp only has a few parts , like 5 .
very very simple . if you want to try this lemme know i could dig up more info , my hard drive failed so i lost some stuff (i know) . good luck , dont give up on your lil amp , you could always put the preamp in the amp and try that if you dont want to mess with the guitar .

Thanks Michael. No need to get lost, just get it done. My first amp looked like a first amp, nothing special, but it worked. There are alot of great builds on this site, and we all learn from each other here. build something and have some fun doin it....
