First build, going all out. Gonna make as many mistakes as I can the first time. Red "A. Flores" box, Peruvian walnut piezo bridge pickup and gold tone single-coil bridge with piezo blend active circuit, peruvian walnut fretboard, spalted maple neck, gold mandolin tail piece and gold knobs.
Update: Changed the box to a Camacho. Homemade blend circuit works great. Spalted maple looks wonderful, but in retrospect, it probably wasn't a great choice for neck material. I had to laminate it to keep it from warping and it doesn't have much resonance.
I think I could make a good video of "what not to do".
Working on a license plate resonator. Using some wormy oak that I split (rived) in wedges along the radials of the log. I got the idea after I split some for firewood and saw how cool it looked. It will go well with the 1969 Yazoo Mississippi license plate. I plan on using a P90 style handwound pickup with a top carved from the same wood.
