this morning's project: double neck 5 string panjo

I wanted a 5 string that had the high g out of my way, but still an option for rolls. This was my solution. I have to say that it seems to work, but I really miss having frets. Dollar store pie pan body. Old sign post main neck (without a single cut on it c: just pulled the staples and stuck it on) and an old piece of trash wood for the high neck. It's been too long since I made something that I expected to be a complete failure.

  • Not up close, it doesn't. ;)  it's good fun regardless.  It does, however, mean I have to put this mandolin neck on something else since I used those pie pans. I really wanted to call it a pandolin.

  • Update: it works really well and sounds good. I'll be starting on a pretty one (probably fretted) soon.
