Tailpiece from brass hinge

I saw hinges like this on some of David Lloyd's instruments. Thought that they might make tailpieces. Each hinge makes two tailpieces, with very little modification. The hole spacing is 11mm (or 0.440")It's not held there by magic glue. Just gravity (picture was rotated).
