Darryl - I don't use any jigs. I draw a line and cut on it with my hand saw.
Believe it or not, I hold the wide blade lightly with my fingers along the wood to get it to cut flush.
Do you use any jigs to make the scarf joint? I made a simple crosscut sled for table saw….somehow I can’t seem to find it…but i will,and post a pic of it
