I use Rod piezos direct to the Jack.Test it:One way wire hookup, it is quiet, the other way it hums. That's how you know.I think it is inside out from Rod wire to Jack tab, but I check it every time.I use vegetable steamer leaves for string holders, often with a vinyl covering.
