  I do have some ancient cigar boxes that are Cedar. Framus used to make great little parlor guitars of cedar. I owned one in the 60's. Mark Lilo makes fabulous cedar guitars. It's good wood.

  I like it too.  In fact, we have some old cedar fencing that will find its way into a new build soon!  And I think that some wooden cigar boxes might be cedar as well?

  I love working the Cedar. It's light,, strong and makes good tones. I get a lot of it from my local timber butcher.. free.
