Part of my room here in Ghent. The Wine Box Guitar to the right was my first build. Resophonic, with el-cheapo single-coil pickup and a separate piezzo just next to the 'cone'...The guitar to the left is my much-cherished Faux-Resonator, made by Regal in the early 30's. Although it is not a real resonator - partly because I lack the resources to spend some 2500 USD, and partly because they are hard to come by over here in Belgium - I still like it a lot. It sure has mojo, and it is sturdy as hell. You could use it as a bat or a boat pedal, and I reckon it would still sound as sweet as before.

Thanks. Same here, finding a good ole' reso is not that hard, paying for them is. A National Duolian in Walnut finish....Must stop thinking about it, or I'll drool all over my keyboard.
Hi there, thanks for your comment. I used a simple sheet of aluminium, circa 0.3mm thick. The bridge rests on this plate, at the bottom of the Spade. But as the aluminium sheet was a bit thin, I had to add some support to the interior to keep the 'cone' from bending. The single-coil pickup was just glued to the 'cone'. A real easy build, but hey - I had to start somewhere. Will be making another CBG soon, this time with a sheet-metal cone.
Please, more details about "Gambler's Gal"! I'm a poker dealer and would love to build something similar. What did you use for the spade? I love the weathered look, too!
