Red Banjo

Box is made from some plywood drawer bottoms, resonator is a tin can from canteen at work. Bought the oak for the neck as had nothing suitable to hand. Scale length 25.5 inches. Check out the video of this being played by a friend of mine who, unlike me, can actually play! Excitingly, I've named the video "Homemade Banjo".

  • Kartereo, not a dumb question. It's a catering-size tin about 6 inches in diameter, like a big baked bean tin. Obviously the top was removed to get the contents out. I've up-ended it and dropped it into the box, trimmed down a bit to get the right height. Also got a couple of notches cut in the lower rim to let the sound out into the box. Hope that explains things better.
  • dumb question, is there anything under the coffee can lid? or is it just empty space.....that a great Idea by the way.
