Dissappointment! While whiping this flute clean, it shattered. White glaze top, unglazed bottom oxidized with horse hair finish. There's many important Zen lessons to be learned in ceramics. The most important is the impermanence of all things. This isn't a total loss; I ground the mouthpiece chunk flat on the bottom and got a whistle that plays 4 notes. Next time I will add more grog to the clay, to make it more resistant to thermal shock.
