Small octagon shaped box obtained at a craft store, neck fashioned from some wood liberated from a destroyed door in the basement of our house. The tuners are chopsticks that could take the fishing line strings shown here, but could not take the tension of some much heavier low end strings. I have one violing tuning peg and will secure another and add the 2nd string. I want to experiment with different strings and the sound each produces in conjunction with the unusual innards of this instrument whos shape was derived from some of the instruments in the MIM museum in Phoenix Arizona.I want to install a Piezo rod inside the lid that opens and run a jack stright out the tail of the body.More images to come when build is completed.

  • Hey Steven, if you're looking for another vio tuner you might try Hargiss Stringed Instruments in Omaha. He has a lot of spare parts laying around and I'm sure he could get you fixed up.

  • Thanks men...The chopstick tuners couldnt take real strings...have 1 violin tuning peg installed, looking for a 2nd to complete build..

  • Cool Steven, I like the chopstick tuners!
