This is my first attempt at using a band saw to rip an inlay in the fretboard. I sprayed the tailpiece with car paint and clear coat to match the wood. 3 way switch between a Fender single coil with a Faraday shield (NO NOISE AT ALL! and a big piezo under the resonator. The middle position between the two pups is great! 23" tenor short scale for proportion with a Padron wooden box.

The resonator is from either Gitty (an older Charles Atkinson model) or MGB guitars near Tampa. I think the resonator cover is from MGB. I believe in spreading the business around to help everybody out. The resonator cover probably helps reflect a bit of the sound back onto the resonator.  Uncle, if you build a future guitar with a Fender single coil pup (cheap on Ebay!), you can kill the hum and interference from fluorescents etc. by protecting the coil with masking tape. Then wrap some copper foil around the outside of the pickup wires but do NOT complete the circle. Make a U with a gap in the foil and ground the foil to the ground on the pickup. I learned this online from a German engineer/guitar player. It works and is called a Faraday cage after the English scientist of the 1800's Michael Faraday. Even Leo Fender didn't figure that one out and it took Les Paul to mount two pickups 180 degrees out of phase to produce the humbucker!

By the way, I like your dredging up of old blues, folk, church, whatever and writing your own music. I have been a modern artist & media professor in New York and all over the world. Today stealing of ideas is called 're-purposing'. Marshall McCluhan the Canadian media philosopher said: 'copying is the highest form of flattery... er battery! And as the Old Testatament prophet said: 'there is nothing new under the sun' EXCEPT when two old ideas get combined together and then VOILA! Blues and church music equals country and rock and roll! That's how Elvis got going! Old time religion ELECTRIFIED!

Ernest, that is a beauty and it looks like it will be a fine player.  What cone did you use?   I have built a few resonators, but have never used a cone cover.  It sure looks good here and you have me looking at my fave resonator and thinking, hmmm.
