The head features a slotted headstock and a 1x3 set of open geared tuners. I haven't decided if I want to stay with these strings, so I haven't cut them yet. Instead the 3 strings are looped together. The headstock is 6 inches long from nut to top of the head, and is just as wide as the neck (1 & 1/8") The head and neck were built by gluing together six strips of cherry trim wood with the dimensions of 32" x 3cm x 0.5cm. The six strips are oriented vertically along the length of the neck, so that the top and bottom sides, if you look really carefully, show the six 0.5cm boards. But the fretboard covers most of the neck, so you can't see it as well as on the headstock.
