  • Nice job mate really great
  • that would be excellent i look forward to it... as a matter of fact i saw one on kijiji,ca that i may go buy in case i need a back up. thanks for the info

  • Bill,

I don't have any build photos, but I/m working on another one and can take a picture of that one in a few days if it helps you out. the neck goes all the way through without touching the top or bottom.  I reinforced the "slot" in the top of the body and at the end where it attaches.

  • Its a craiglist violin.  Made a neck out of maple that runs through the center and anchors at the end.  Fretboard is cherry that I ebonized with vinegar and steel wool solution.  It was cool to try this old timey recipe, but it's not as deep black as I would like.  I scarfed the violin headstock  back at the top.  The tuners were a bear to fit into it.

has two piezo's, one int he bass cavity and one embedded in the neck.  the switches turn each piezo on or off to the first jack.  Sounds best with both of them on.  The second jack goes to a hot humbucker buried under the top.  Works fine, but I'm not sure the humbucker sound really works with a strummer like this.

Strap is an old pair of suspenders..... This is definitely a better use for them.

  • any build photos of this id like to see how you attached the neck

  • great build i have one sitting there just waiting for me to screw it up trying to make one... looks like it wood sound good, any clip

  • Thanks Dave.

I've been calling it a Dulcilin

  • Wow, it's beautiful. Nice conversion. Dulcifiddle? Fiddleulcimer? Hot axe...
