Old Lowe Cone - Reso CBG by Uncle John
Open G tuned 4 string. (DGBD). Nice tone with good volume. Does not sound banjo-like. Very pleased with cone from Old Lowe for $25. Good tone, good action. Some times they come out right. :) I don't need no stinkin' reso cover. Like the cone like it is.

Hey George, thanks for the kind comments. No big advice on the Lowe. Best to have a 7 or more inch box. Could probably sand down the outside edges for a 6.5 inch. Keep aware of scale length ending where the biscuit goes. Brass screws look good. Makes a good 4, but I think a 3 would be very good. I really like mine. Hope the same for you.

I just ordered one of those cones a few days ago. Any advice? I will be my first reso build. I like the bald cone too. I'm going to do the same thing.
