Oily's Build #1 - My Box

My first build! I originally glued the 3/8" lauan plywood together, but it was tough to square up. Then I found some 1/2" pine strips at a local hardware store, and cut it to fit for support, both corners and stretchers. Once I glued and screwed it, what a change! The box is much stiffer now, and the sides and bottom now resonate musically. I think the supports are acting like the tone bars and top bracings on a standard guitar soundboard. The 1-3/8" to 1-1/2" neck will fit between the upright supports, and will extend to the end of the box, between the stretchers at the box end, supported by built-up arches at the neck join and the tail. Still trying to decide between gluing and / or screwing the neck in.
