It had a scarf joint neck. I think I might cut it clean at the nut (that sounded painful) . Then I'll machine a flat on the back of the neck and glue on a new head. It'll be straight I stead of tapered. I'll use straight grain wood instead of that cool looking grain that turned out to be running the wrong direction in that area. Live and learn....

I think you can salvage it. Fit the tuners on the 'stub'? Probably not glueable since it there is no easy way to clamp it.
