This shows the threaded insert I used for the removable neck with the flathead 1/4" x 1-1/2" stainless machine screw. I put in the insert before gluing on the fretboard so you can't see it when assembled.

The box is 1 x 2 maple all around. The part that sticks out goes the whole length of the box inside and is pinned with dowels at the tail, so it's plenty stout. It seems pretty strong so far, so I'm mostly worried about how well it will wear now. When I do a neck bend when playing the pitch doesn't shift as much as my other guitars, but the short scale might be a factor too.

Not many CBGers do this. Should be fine if the heel/box combo is strong. Interesting.
