ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH!
My latest build and rebuild are giving me fits. The rebuild looked good and then the glued down mag pup did not work.
The new build looks just how I wanted it to look. But it is a DGB for fretted chords. Open G sounds good. A C chord sounds good. A D or D7 does NOT sound good or right.
I had (bolt) nut too low. Now maybe too high. It may come out how I want it or may get changed to a slider in GDG.
I also have a crappy and warped old acoustic to repair that someone bought as an intended Christmas gift.
And I have a Mississippi License Plate LPG started. It will be a Christmas gift if the *&^%$#@ thing comes out.
Man, sometimes I string them up and think they are good to excellent. And some times NOT!

LOL, Kale. It took me a half minute to get it. They should be.
You mean those aren't the words?
It is a wise old saying among demented master craftsmen, Bob. And wanna-be's like me.
Sounds like a dandy Christmas gift. I hope it gets the shite played out of it. And lots of love.
Thanks Unc J. Ha, this is uncanny but probably coincidental... I say to people "Have you tried standing on one foot and sticking your tongue out an angle." Could be that it's a more common saying or we both have tried doing that.
I've almost finished a build for a work colleague to give his son for Christmas. There was a bit of buzzing around the box area, but has now had "Epic Adjustment" ha. I'll hopefully upload the details sometime next week.
I love that song, Bob.
Yup. Rebuilds often give me a lot of satisfaction. The original may have been okay to good, but just not me or what I wanted. When they come out more to my liking on the 2nd try I am pleased and have not added to the herd.
Good wishes on your rebuild. Always stand on your left foot and stick your tongue out a little bit and to either side when doing the difficult parts.
Nice pun Unc J. I'm a bit of a "Chest and Nuts roasting by an open fire" type of guy... I won't add a picture to that. In response to your ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH! - I think most issues can usually be dealt with, but, it is a pain when the build is almost complete and pickups fail or nut, bridge and string height don't get along together, or the thing buzzes or drones all over the shop, sometimes ending in an "Epic Adjustment Exercise!"... leading to ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH!
I am in the process of rebuilding an old CBG (it was my second one). I bought it complete for just a few quid. It had a bowed neck (didn't have a support heel), the frets weren't dressed etc... but it pushed me on with the CBG scene. Anyhoo, it is undergoing intense refurbishment, so, I'll let you know how it goes. Yours sympathetically, Bob.
