Beautiful work. I'm at the same stage in a lap steel of solid African Mahogany much like yours. Mine is modeled after a Regal from the 30s. I have the carcass of the old thing to study and work from. I got a great plank of Mahogany at our local Woodruff timber shop. I've made two guitar blanks from it and one is coming along. I'll post some photos today of my progress.

Hi Andrew, That will be in a year from now. I'd love to play it then and also some of your other builds!
Hi Dave - I haven't had time to finish her up yet. I've been incredibly busy...but I'll definitely post when she's done !
Have you posted the finished photos? I love this baby, can't wait to see the finals. My Mahogany baby sure sounds great, I'll bet yours does too.
Thanks fellas !
Servaas - it's African Mahogany. Next time you make it to Texas you'll have to play it ! :)
Cool project Andrew! Lookin' good so far. What kind of wood did you use?
Cheers,
Servaas
