World War 2 instrument made of half a water bottle, pierced with holes, a goatskin, the wooden part of a Turkish bomb and telephone wires.
It provided great music and was a wonderful thing to have it in the company. Corpl Ogilvie, 1st Seaforth Highlanders, B Company.

This photograph comes from the diary of Captain RW Ross, 1st Seaforth Highlanders, who served in Mesopotamia and was awarded the Military Cross
