It begins

I'm taking this down to the natural maple finish, because I got a great chance to attempt a proper restoration. It was originally white, but the white ones just aren't as pretty as solid rock maple, and each of these guitars was a custom order so there's some leeway on what this guitar can be while still being close to factory options. The serial number says very little about the guitar, I have no idea why. Carvin just puts numbers on their builds with no rhyme or reason.

  • I'm glad you think so, because I will keep posting as I go.  Honestly, I expect it to be uneventful until I get to rewiring it. The thing has dual humbuckers with dual volume controls, coil splitters (however that works), a 3 way switch, and a tone pot.  I am gonna have to learn to finish it.

  • C: I couldn't help myself. Just the thought of letting it keep that rough, purple, black, and silver paint made me not want to buy original 11 pole pickups. And I am keeping this one. For sure.
