This one uses 3/4" PVC pipe. I like the gray color from the electrical section of Lowes better. Works fine with fishing line, but neck is not stiff enough to support the higher tension of steel strings that the 1" PVC would.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning Glenn. The Chugger is light. I use the Flourocarbon type of fishing line. It's more expensive, but the only way I have been able to get low G on standard GD tuning with reasonable scale length: 23" in this case. Fishing line sure is comfortable to play and has it's own unique sound. Piezo's sound great, are simple to install, and the price is right. The filament color is actually Apple Green, so this 'un avocado is the current apple of my eye! I always appreciate the encouraging words.
VERY cool Doug! Gotta be light also, so much plastic, 2 string fretted chuggers- and I've enjoyed working w. nylon (fishing line to be exact) for strings more and more. Easy on the fingers for frets. Also love that piezo's work FINE w. fishing line -ahhh da rhyme is mine :) I'd name this 'un avacado, coolness! -Glenn
