Thanks John, I did Blues festival with my cbg's and as I jamming with another friend this tall guy walks up and asks me if he could play. He had a musician's pass hanging around his neck so I figured this would be a great opportunity. He played some Howlin' Wolf and several other great tunes. A large crowd circled around my booth. By the third song my friend says " Your great man, whats your name?" "I'm Guy Davis" he said in a low, cool voice, ." as he shook my friends hand.I thought my
friend s eye balls were going to pop out. My friend says " aww SH*T MAN YOUR GUY DAVIS, LET ME SHAKE YOUR HAND AGAIN!!!"That was the last song he played with Guy. He got too nervous to play with Guy. Guy was one of the most down to earth, cool musicians I have ever met. Ronnie Earl was also there. He's also another terrific guy who I had the honor of hanging out with.
Yes! I am a huge fan of Guy Davis. Only got to hear him once in person, in Des Moines. I have all his blues albums. What is the story here? Whose guitar and where and when for the photo?
