No it'll cope with real gitts, it's what it's made for.. I mean it wont survive the rigors of gigging for long..
I've got several in pieces...

...I agree, i can't see it coping with full size 6 string guitars but for lightweight CBG's my x3 has been fine (-:

Those are great for home but if you start giving with it you'll find they're not very durable.

You could also build something very similar out of stiff grey 1" PVC for under 50 bucks...
